Sony sets June 4 2027 release for Skeletons horror film

Sony Pictures has scheduled the horror movie Skeletons for a theatrical release on June 4 2027. The film stars Brie Larson and is directed by JT Mollner with J.J. Abrams as producer.

The creature-horror picture tells the story from a young boy's point of view as he discovers a disturbing secret about his mother. It is a modern take on the genre produced by Bad Robot Productions along with FilmNation Entertainment and Assemble Media.

The cast includes Kyle Gallner, Daithí Ó Haragáin, John Goodman, Willa Fitzgerald, Ione Skye and Keith Carradine. Brian Duffield wrote the first draft of the screenplay based on a short story by Philip Fracassi with revisions by Mollner.

Other films also set to open on the same date include Lionsgate’s prequel John Rambo and an untitled Paramount event film. Next up for Bad Robot is the Anne Hathaway-Ewan McGregor picture The End of Oak Street scheduled for August 14 via Warner Bros.
