Steve Lacy releases single 'The Feeling' ahead of new album

Steve Lacy released the single 'The Feeling' on June 5 as the first preview of his third album, Oh Yeah?. The track comes with a music video and arrives ahead of the album's scheduled release on July 17 via RCA Records.

The song explores a relationship in turmoil. Lacy sings lines including 'The heart takes what it wants / I’m not scared to bleed, you know our history.' The Matthew Castellanos-directed video shows Lacy's floating head in darkness, him strumming an acoustic guitar, and other scenes with sparklers and psychedelic backdrops. Lacy has teased the album since October 2025 with the single 'Nice Shoes.' He recorded parts of it in Paris and focused more on lyrics than in past projects. His previous album, Gemini Rights, won a Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album in 2023.
