Sweden names squad for Hlinka Gretzky Cup

Sweden's under-18 national hockey team, known as Småkronorna, has announced its 23-player roster for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton.

Head coach Thomas Paananen unveiled the squad on July 7 for the tournament scheduled from August 3 to 8. The team will gather on July 25 and play a training match against Canada on July 31 before the event begins.

Paananen described the lineup as offering both skill and balance across positions. "Det här blir ett förstklassigt test för oss tidigt på säsongen," he said in a statement.

Sweden competes in Group A alongside Slovakia, Switzerland and host nation Canada. The top two teams advance to the semifinals.
