Tanikawa scores magically: FC Bayern turns game in Paris

FC Bayern's women's team secured a 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Trailing early, the Munich side staged a comeback. It marked their third win in four matches.

FC Bayern's women's team demonstrated strong morale once again in the Champions League. Eight days after their 3-2 comeback win against title holders Arsenal London, they turned around the match against Paris Saint-Germain and won 3-1 (2-1). Goals for coach José Barcala's side came from Linda Dallmann in the 17th minute, Momoko Tanikawa in the 34th, and Jovana Damnjanovic in the 89th. Sakina Karchaoui had given PSG the lead in the 16th minute.

At Paris's Parc des Princes, the Munich team had to do without national striker Lea Schüller, who felt unwell. Initially on the defensive, the visitors fell behind quickly: Karchaoui slotted a low shot from just under 16 meters past substitute keeper Ena Mahmutovic into the Bayern goal.

The strong response came swiftly. A cross from captain Giulia Gwinn was poorly cleared by PSG defender Griedge Mbock, allowing Dallmann to equalize from close range. Tanikawa scored the match's finest goal: Deceiving two opponents with a body feint, she placed the ball under the bar for the lead.

In the second half, PSG's expected onslaught failed to materialize; Mahmutovic handled their few chances. Damnjanovic sealed the win just before the end. For the German double winners, it was their third victory in four games—only the 1-7 opener at FC Barcelona proved hopeless. Next up: An away game at Atlético Madrid on December 10.
