Terpel acquires solar photovoltaic plant in Norte de Santander

Organización Terpel has signed a contract to acquire 100% of the shares in Pétalo del Norte de Santander I, a 26.4 MWp solar photovoltaic plant. The deal involves Generadora 205 S.L. and Erco Energía S.A.S. as sellers, aiming to advance Colombia's energy transition.

Organización Terpel announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Pétalo del Norte de Santander I, a new solar photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 26.4 MWp. The transaction was conducted with Generadora 205 S.L., a Spanish company subsidiary to Climate Fund Managers, and Erco Energía S.A.S., a Colombian firm. Terpel also secured 100% of the fiduciary rights in the autonomous patrimony linked to the plant.

The plant will connect to the local energy distribution system to feed into the national interconnected grid, capable of generating enough power for nearly 24,000 households. Juan Daniel Rueda, Terpel's new mobility manager, stated: "as a Country Ally, this second solar park reflects our determination to advance toward a cleaner energy matrix and position Terpel as a relevant actor in energy solutions." He added: "This acquisition demonstrates our ability to grow in new segments and aligns with our vision of consolidating as a more innovative, sustainable company with a diversified portfolio that generates long-term value."

The deal was approved by Terpel's Board of Directors in its regular sessions and is subject to review by the competition authority, after which it will be disclosed to the public market. This move supports Terpel's mission to encourage the expansion of non-polluting renewable energy sources and diversify its income streams, in line with the company's strategic plan.
