Tori Amos has shared 'Stronger Together', the lead single from her upcoming album In Times of Dragons. The track features backing vocals from her daughter Tash and ties into the album's narrative of political allegory and personal escape. The album, her 18th studio release, is set for May 1 via Universal/Fontana.
Tori Amos announced her new album In Times of Dragons in January 2026, describing it as a metaphorical story about the fight for democracy over tyranny. The narrative involves the protagonist fleeing a 'sadistic billionaire Lizard Demon husband' and heading to the deep south of the US to evade capture. On this journey, she encounters various characters, including one called The Daughter, with whom she sings.
'Stronger Together', released on February 24, 2026, serves as the first single and highlights the evolving relationship with The Daughter. Amos explained in a press release: "‘Stronger Together’ is the culmination of our relationship as it is transformed with The Daughter choosing to stand by me no matter what challenges lay ahead. Whatever we will face in the future, we make a vow to each other that we’re stronger together."
The dreamy pop track blends myth, political allegory, and personal storytelling, with Tash providing subtle backing vocals. Amos further elaborated on the album's theme: "In Times of Dragons is a story that parables the current dangerous times we are in—where democracy itself is on the line. As I’m fleeing from the character that is my sadistic billionaire Lizard Demon husband, I came across people I had not been allowed to see in years... One of the many characters I meet on the journey is The Daughter. We spend time and sing together."
In Times of Dragons follows Amos's 2025 debut children's book Tori and the Muses and its companion album. To support the release, Amos will embark on a 35-show tour this summer, starting in July in Florida and concluding in September in Seattle, with stops in cities including Dallas, Phoenix, and Boston. Pre-orders for the album are currently available.
