Two cars drove off E20 into the ditch between the lanes near Svågertorp on Wednesday evening. No one was injured in the accident, but it significantly impacted traffic. Rescue services, ambulance, and police were called to the scene.
On Wednesday evening, a traffic accident occurred on the Outer Ring Road in Malmö, near Svågertorp. At 18:45, rescue services, ambulance, and police were alerted to the scene after two cars drove off the road and into the median ditch between the lanes.
Joel Johansson, duty officer at the rescue service, described the incident: “It’s two cars that drove into the median ditch. Whether they collided with each other, I don’t know.” It is unclear how many people were involved, but all were able to exit the vehicles on their own. No one was taken to the hospital.
Mikaela Warhed, team leader at SOS Alarm, confirmed: “The ambulances have left the scene without a patient.” The accident caused significant traffic disruption, especially from Denmark. The Outer Ring Road was completely closed in the eastbound direction.
By 19:30, the rescue service reported leaving the scene and partial release of traffic. However, the road may be closed again during the towing of the vehicles. The event highlights the challenges posed by sudden run-off-road incidents on highways, even without injuries.
