Svenska Ishockeyförbundet has announced a reorganized leadership structure for Tre Kronor ahead of Rikard Grönborg's tenure as head coach. Nicklas Lidström, Tommy Boustedt and analyst Jack Han join the staff with specific roles. The changes include drawing assistant coaches from SHL clubs for tournaments.
The federation presented the new setup on June 17. Grönborg replaces Sam Hallam and will serve as head coach. Lidström takes a two-year role as chefsrådgivare with focus on NHL players and organizations.
Boustedt returns after previous service at the federation. He holds a two-year contract as Player Personnel Manager and will monitor SHL and European players. Jack Han, 37, signs a one-year deal as analyst after stints with Tappara and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Assistant coaches will now come from SHL clubs on a tournament basis. Landslagschef Anders Lundberg said the goal remains to compete for medals with an ambition to win gold at every championship. Charles Berglund, former player and coach, called the structure a smart move that strengthens ties between the federation and the SHL.
