Two 49-year-olds sentenced for murder in Eskilstuna

Eskilstuna District Court has sentenced two men to long prison terms for a contract killing of a 35-year-old man in Årby in August 2024.

A 35-year-old man was shot dead with multiple shots in Årby on 30 August 2024. The next day a 19-year-old man was shot and injured in Lagersberg.

The two 49-year-old men from western Sweden were sentenced on Thursday for murder, attempted murder and endangering others. One receives a life sentence and the other 16 years.

Judge Anna Fridh Welin said the shootings had the character of executions. Two other men were sentenced to 10 and 12 years for aiding. Two women were sentenced for gross harbouring of criminals.
