Two Swedish men wanted by Interpol have been brought to Sweden from the United Arab Emirates and placed in custody.
The two men arrived in Sweden on Thursday evening. One is 45 years old and was arrested in Dubai in December 2023. He is suspected of gross bookkeeping crimes, gross document forgery and gross tax crimes between 2017 and 2022.
The other man is 38 years old and was arrested in the United Arab Emirates in spring 2025. He is suspected of very gross drug smuggling and very gross drug offenses between March 2020 and January 2021.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in a statement that two persons have been arrested and handed over after well-executed work. He added that anyone who commits serious crimes will be held accountable regardless of where in the world they try to hide.
