Visby Roma has added Karl Johansson to its roster ahead of the club's first season in HockeyAllsvenskan. The 33-year-old defenseman joins from Östersunds IK.
Visby Roma continues to strengthen its team for the upcoming HockeyAllsvenskan campaign. The club announced the signing of 33-year-old defenseman Karl Johansson, who arrives after four seasons with Östersunds IK.
Johansson has previously played for Tingsryd, Oskarshamn, Björklöven and Växjö. Östersund chose not to extend his contract following the past season, opening the door for a new challenge on Gotland.
Sportchef André Lundholm highlighted Johansson's value. "Karl is a player who will mean a lot to us. He has great experience, is a very stable defenseman and has for many years shown that he can play many minutes against the opponents' best players," Lundholm said.
Lundholm added that Johansson fits the profile sought and will become an important part of both the defensive unit and the team culture.
