A new 63-track benefit compilation, Just Cause Vol. 2, has been released on Bandcamp with all proceeds supporting the Immigrant Defense Project. Wendy Eisenberg and The Soft Pink Truth are among the leading contributors, alongside artists like Agriculture’s Leah B. Levinson. The album follows a 2024 predecessor that aided the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
Just Cause Vol. 2, organized by Cody DeFalco and Evan Welsh, features contributions from a wide array of musicians. Wendy Eisenberg appears with her trio Darlin’, featuring Ryan Sawyer and Lester St. Louis on the track “The Differences.” The Soft Pink Truth, the project of Matmos’ Drew Daniel, offers a new mix of his song “Cloud,” titled “Cloud (Just Cause Mix).” Other notable tracks include Lucy Liyou’s “Gullible Gospel,” Iceblink’s “Sunday Chores,” Allegra Krieger’s “see through (demo),” and Otracami’s “Sharp Axe.” Agriculture’s Leah B. Levinson contributes “Generate.” Leah B. Levinson of Agriculture contributes “Generate.” The full tracklist spans 63 songs, from Alana Amore Colvin’s “Minnesota” to Yaz Lancaster’s “perennial (feat. Tyler Neidermayer).” The Immigrant Defense Project, which receives all proceeds, provides legal training and advocacy for immigrants at risk of imprisonment and deportation. This release succeeds Just Cause Vol. 1 from 2024, which supported the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and included Eisenberg’s collaboration “Calm Down” with More Eaze, as well as tracks from This Is Lorelei and OHYUNG. Eisenberg released her solo album Viewfinder in 2024, while The Soft Pink Truth issued Can Such Delightful Times Go On Forever? in February, as first reported by Pitchfork.
