The Seattle Mariners have agreed to an eight-year, $95 million contract extension with top infield prospect Colt Emerson, marking the largest deal ever for a player with zero MLB service time. The pact, announced Tuesday, includes a club option for a ninth year and could exceed $130 million with escalators.
