Storm Johannes causes widespread power outages in northern Sweden

Storm Johannes sweeps through Norrland, causing power outages for tens of thousands of households, especially in Västerbotten and Hälsingland. Trafikverket has awarded SJ the operation of night train services from Stockholm to Upper Norrland for the next two years. The contract also includes reintroduced direct services to Narvik.

A deep low-pressure system is expected to bring very windy conditions with gusts up to storm force.
