Subnautica 2 reached more than 2 million sales across PC and Xbox Series X/S within hours of its Early Access release on May 14. The game also hit a peak of 467,582 concurrent players on Steam on launch day. Lead designer Anthony Gallegos responded to pre-release piracy incidents in the official Discord server.
