Hallmark+ has greenlit an eight-episode prequel series titled Hope Valley: 1874, expanding the beloved When Calls the Heart universe with an origin story set in the pioneer era. Starring Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres, and Jill Hennessy, the show explores the founding of the titular town and premieres exclusively on the streaming service in March 2026.
Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art for its upcoming series Young Sherlock, directed by Guy Ritchie. Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a young Sherlock Holmes, the action prequel builds on earlier premiere announcements with new glimpses into the detective's origin story. All eight episodes drop March 4, 2026.

HBO Max has released the second episode of the horror prequel series IT: Welcome to Derry ahead of schedule on October 31, 2025, in honor of Halloween. Titled 'The Thing in the Dark' and directed by Andy Muschietti, the episode advances the storyline in 1962 Derry without featuring the iconic Pennywise. It will also air regularly on HBO Sunday at 9 p.m.
