China's Xi arrives in Busan for talks with Trump

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in South Korea for the first time in 11 years to attend the APEC summit and discuss trade and security with U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump also traveled to Busan for their first in-person meeting in six years. The summit draws attention amid the U.S.-China trade war and tensions over Korean Peninsula security.
Following a U.S. military operation that captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, South Korea has called on all parties to ease regional tensions and restore stability through dialogue. The foreign ministry expressed hope for the restoration of democracy and respect for the Venezuelan people's will, while bolstering measures to protect nationals abroad. Around 70 South Korean nationals are in Venezuela, with no casualties reported so far.

A U.N. committee has adopted two South Korea-led resolutions on the military use of artificial intelligence and promoting disarmament among youth. The resolutions were passed during a meeting in New York on Thursday local time. They will be submitted to the U.N. General Assembly plenary session in December for final adoption.
