Ukraine has signed a letter of intent to buy 20 Gripen E jets from Sweden. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the plans during a visit to Uppsala.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called for peace negotiations with Russia at the Ukraine reconstruction conference. He also stated that Ukraine will prevail and become an EU member.
