161,000 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims arrive in Mecca

A total of 161,591 regular Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are now concentrated in Mecca ahead of the peak rituals at Armuzna. All pilgrims previously in Medina have shifted to Mecca.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that all regular Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in Medina have arrived in Mecca as of Saturday, May 16, 2026. Ministry spokesperson Suci Annisa said this phase marks a key shift as services now focus on preparations for the peak rituals.

Operational data shows 418 groups carrying 161,591 pilgrims and 1,672 officers have reached Mecca. A total of 11,739 special Hajj pilgrims have also arrived in Saudi Arabia.

Hajj Organizing Officers completed the transfer of first-wave pilgrims from Medina on Friday, May 15, 2026. The final three groups departed from Embarkations UPG 21, KJT 20, and BTH 14.

Suci Annisa urged pilgrims to maintain health and conserve energy. "Armuzna requires good stamina, so pilgrims need to manage their strength from now on," she said.
