Agriculture Minister Bhagirath Choudhary Received Rs 99 Lakh Subsidy From Own Ministry Scheme

Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary received a Rs 99 lakh subsidy for his Rajasthan cucumber farm through a scheme administered by the National Horticulture Board, where he serves as ex-officio Vice-President.

The project in Peeh village, Deedwana-Kuchaman district, received in-principle approval on April 29, 2025, after an application on April 15, 2025. Final clearance came on March 11, 2026, followed by the subsidy credit of Rs 99.03 lakh to his HDFC Bank loan account on March 30, 2026.

The total project cost was Rs 1.99 crore, with Choudhary contributing Rs 49.8 lakh and taking a Rs 1.49 crore loan. A signboard at the site states it was assisted by the National Horticulture Board under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture.

Choudhary, BJP MP from Ajmer and MoS since 2024, did not respond to queries on conflict of interest. His aide said project details will be disclosed to the government. His March 2025 asset declaration listed Peeh land but omitted the NHB project.
