Border 2 revives Sandese Aate Hain as Ghar Kab Aaoge

Nearly three decades after the original Border, the iconic Sandese Aate Hain returns in Border 2 as Ghar Kab Aaoge. This enduring patriotic song from Hindi cinema captures the absence, longing, and silent grief of soldiers and their homes.

Nearly three decades after the 1997 film Border directed by JP Dutta, its sequel Border 2 is set to release. A highlight is the song 'Ghar Kab Aaoge', a reimagining of the original 'Sandese Aate Hain'. The classic track was sung by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathore, composed by Anu Malik, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

The new version features lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla and is sung by Diljit Dosanjh and Arijit Singh. The film stars Sunny Deol alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahaan Shetty, and Parmvir Singh Cheema in key roles. It is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Nidhi Dutta.

The song evokes the longing for homecoming and separation of soldiers, set against the Tanot border in Jaisalmer. It embodies Bollywood's legacy of patriotic songs that both hurt and heal, capturing the silent grief of the Indian Army.

KVN Productions has removed the full version of the song ‘Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse’ from its upcoming Kannada film KD: The Devil amid social media backlash over the lyrics. The track, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, was slammed by fans as “vulgar” and “suggestive”. Singer Armaan Malik expressed disappointment, calling it a new low for commercial songwriting.
