Callum Wilson joins Brentford on one-year deal

Brentford have signed former England striker Callum Wilson on a one-year deal after he left relegated West Ham.

The 34-year-old forward scored 95 Premier League goals during spells with West Ham, Newcastle and Bournemouth. Last season he netted seven times and added one assist in 35 appearances for the Hammers.

Wilson said there is unbelievable quality in the dressing room and described the welcoming family feel at the club. He is looking forward to getting started.

The forward has nine England caps and two international goals, including his debut strike against the United States at Wembley in November 2018. He will support Brazil striker Igor Thiago, who scored 25 goals for Brentford across all competitions last season.

Brentford open their Premier League campaign at home to Tottenham Hotspur on August 22.
