Chennai Traffic Police Arrest Eight Persons in Tondiarpet

City Traffic Police arrested eight men in Chennai's Tondiarpet area for dangerous driving and stunts on Saturday. Officers seized eight two-wheelers, six of them high-end racing bikes.

The arrests were carried out by the Washermenpet traffic investigation team following directions from City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj to stop racing and stunts by two-wheelers.

Those detained are Mugilvanan, 23, Karthik, 23, Kaviyarasan, 20, Vishwa, 20, Dhanush, 22, Sarun, 21, Mosai Ebinezan and Mahesh, 20. All are residents of Tondiarpet. They were accused of performing stunts and driving dangerously, causing nuisance to pedestrians.

A senior traffic police official stated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone operating vehicles at high speeds or in a dangerous manner under the guise of stunts.
