Explosion risk after garbage truck fire in Eskilstuna

A garbage truck caught fire on Kungsgatan in central Eskilstuna on Friday morning. Police cordoned off the area due to explosion risk from the gas-powered vehicle.

The alarm came at 8:30. Police established a 100-meter safety distance around the vehicle.

The fire service extinguished the fire that had started in the load compartment. At quarter past nine the garbage truck left the scene under its own power with a police escort.
