Indonesian men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri lost to Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty in the Singapore Open 2026 final with a score of 21-18, 17-21, 16-21.
The final match took place at Singapore Indoor Stadium on Sunday, 31 May 2026. Fajar/Fikri took an early lead by winning the first game 21-18 before the Indian pair fought back to take control.
Fajar said the pair had given their best effort. "We played to the maximum but it must be acknowledged that our opponents played very well today," Fajar said.
Fikri added that the opponents were solid and applied consistent pressure. Despite the loss, Fajar/Fikri immediately shifted focus to the Indonesia Open 2026 starting next week at Istora Senayan.
"We want to show our best there, in front of our own public," Fajar said. The pair hopes to go all out in the upcoming tournament.
