Folha to host free screening of 'A Conspiração Condor' followed by debate

Folha de S.Paulo will hold a free screening of the film 'A Conspiração Condor', directed by André Sturm, on Thursday (16) at 8pm at Cine Belas Artes in São Paulo. The session will be followed by a debate featuring actress Mel Lisboa, former councilor Gilberto Natalini, and director André Sturm, moderated by reporter Naief Haddad.

The event takes place at Cine Belas Artes, at rua da Consolação, 2.423, in the Consolação neighborhood. Free tickets can be picked up at the box office one hour before the session.

The political thriller, set during the military dictatorship, follows a journalist investigating the circumstances of Juscelino Kubitschek's death in a car accident on Via Dutra in 1976. The plot questions the official version, particularly in light of the subsequent deaths of João Goulart in December 1976 from a heart attack in exile in Argentina, and Carlos Lacerda in May 1977 from cardiac issues in Rio de Janeiro. The three politicians were part of the Frente Ampla for redemocratization.

Gilberto Natalini chaired the Truth Commission on dictatorship violations, including the Kubitschek case. Mel Lisboa plays the lead role, and the screenplay was developed with writer Victor Bonini. The film, distributed by Pandora Filmes, combines archival footage and fictional scenes.

Moderation will be by Folha's special reporter Naief Haddad.
