Four Ethiopian Law Firms Merge to Form Taza Legal LLP

Four prominent Ethiopian law offices have merged to establish Taza Legal LLP, aiming to provide local alternatives to foreign firms in corporate legal services.

Tameru Wondimagegnehu & Partners, Mesfin Tafesse & Associates, Mekdes & Associates, and Hanna Mulugeta Law Office have combined into Taza Legal LLP. The new firm has seven partners and over 20 legal professionals, with a combined track record exceeding a century.

Taza Legal plans to serve as the exclusive Ethiopian member of the African Legal Network across 15 markets. This move aligns with Ethiopia's market liberalization and the launch of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange.

Senior partner Tameru Wondimagegnehu stated, “Throughout its history, Ethiopian legal practice has been defined by individuals. Taza is founded on a different belief that the future belongs to institutions.”
