The government is appointing an inquiry to change rules on study aid. The aim is to let students combine studies with work, pursue longer programs and receive better support during sick leave.
The focus is on the income cap, especially earnings from summer jobs. Lotta Edholm (L), minister for upper secondary school, higher education and research, says diligent students who take summer jobs should not be disadvantaged.
The investigator will also examine the upper limit for study aid duration and rules for part-time sick leave. Proposals are due by autumn 2027.
