Grêmio defeated Cruzeiro 3-1 in a friendly held on Sunday at Estádio Mané Garrincha in Brasília. Coaches Luís Castro and Artur Jorge commented on the result after the match.
Grêmio scored through Carlos Vinícius, Juan Nardoni and Matheus Nascimento. Sinisterra scored for Cruzeiro.
Luís Castro highlighted his team’s approach. “São cenários completamente diferentes, o contexto determina. Um adversário que exigiu muito de nós, muito comprometimento, muito rigor”, the Portuguese coach said.
Artur Jorge pointed to effectiveness as the key difference. “Tivemos um comportamento de desempenho bastante bom e um físico que me agradou bem. Mas a eficácia fez a diferença”, the Cruzeiro manager said.
Cruzeiro missed two penalties during the match. Grêmio’s next match is against Mirassol on Friday.
