The Miami Heat's official YouTube channel briefly featured a video titled 'LeBron James Introductory Press Conference' scheduled for July 27 before it was removed.
A team spokesperson confirmed the upload was an error made in preparation for a possible signing. The video included a caption welcoming James back to the Heat and used a thumbnail from Dwyane Wade's statue unveiling.
LeBron James remains an unrestricted free agent after informing the Los Angeles Lakers he will not return. His agent Rich Paul stated on a podcast that the decision will not be rushed and could extend into early August.
James has been linked to the Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors. The Heat already added Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver has noted the delay affects league scheduling for the 2026-27 season.
