At the Halal20 World Halal Summit 2025 held in South Africa, Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH) secured the International Recognition Award. The honor acknowledges its leadership and invaluable contributions to the global halal ecosystem, including the harmonization of international halal standards and enhanced cross-country collaborations.
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan highlighted that this success stems from the government's commitment, particularly under President Prabowo Subianto, to bolster halal product assurance. "This award is inseparable from President Prabowo Subianto's leadership. His commitment to strengthening halal product assurance has proven to greatly boost global trust in Indonesia," stated Haikal Hasan in Jakarta on Friday (November 21, 2025).
The award was symbolically received in South Africa by Fertiana Santy, BPJPH's Director of Partnerships and Cooperation. A re-presentation ceremony occurred during a Media Gathering at FX Sudirman in Jakarta, attended by Presidential Chief of Staff Muhammad Qodari and officials from BPJPH, the Presidential Staff Office, and the Government Communication Agency.
Haikal Hasan clarified that halal implementation goes beyond regulation; it is a syariah mandate ensuring products are halal and thayyib—good, safe, and beneficial. He referenced Quran 2:168 (Al-Baqarah): "O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan."
This verse serves as the philosophical and spiritual foundation for strengthening Indonesia's national halal ecosystem through multi-stakeholder collaboration. The achievement elevates Indonesia's national dignity globally while promoting halal-based economic progress.
