President Javier Milei swore in Manuel Adorni as the new chief of Cabinet at the Casa Rosada, replacing Guillermo Francos. The brief ceremony followed a meeting with legislators from La Libertad Avanza and PRO. Milei then departed for the United States to attend business forums.
In a ceremony held on Wednesday at the Casa Rosada, President Javier Milei swore in Manuel Adorni as chief of Cabinet, replacing Guillermo Francos. The event was brief and took place after a meeting with over 100 current and elected senators and deputies from La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and PRO, initially led by Milei and then by his sister Karina Milei, the general secretary of the Presidency.
Milei gave Adorni a direct message during the swearing-in: "Con todo eh". Later, the president celebrated the appointment on his X account: "Tremendo lujo el nuevo jefe de Gabinete. Fin". The prior meeting with legislators aimed to outline parliamentary strategies and strengthen the officialist bloc ahead of the new Congress starting December 10.
Adorni, who previously handled presidential communications, plans to introduce changes to the Chief of Cabinet's structure, including absorbing other agencies, according to Presidency sources. These adjustments will be published soon in the Official Gazette.
Following the ceremony, Milei departed at 15:00 on his 14th trip to the United States. He will arrive in Miami on Thursday to speak at the American Business Forum at 17:45 and attend the Conference of Action Political Conservative (CPAC) gala at 22:30. The Government ruled out a meeting with Donald Trump, focusing instead on business meetings to attract investments. The date for Diego Santilli's assumption as Interior Minister remains pending, though he has already contacted governors to negotiate support for reforms.
This Cabinet change occurs amid legislative reconfiguration, with the Government calling extraordinary sessions from December 10 to 31 to advance the 2026 Budget and other reforms.
