CONWAY — There’s no place like home. On Feb. 11, the Kennett High girls’ and boys’ cross-country ski teams raced to victory during a high school Nordic ski meet at Whitaker Woods in North Conway. This was their lone home competition of the season, consisting of a 5K skate freestyle race.

Kennett sophomore Evan Preece skied along the final stretch to secure an individual victory. Junior Jenna Burnell also competed on the course. Among the girls, Nia Lajoie, Leilani Eling, and Keira Innes took off from the start line.

The meet highlighted the teams' performance in winter sports, with photos capturing the action on the snow. Kennett is scheduled to return to racing at the Division I State Championships at Oak Hill Outdoor Center in Hanover on Tuesday, March 3, at 10 a.m.

This event underscores the competitive spirit in high school Nordic skiing, an individual snow sport that combines outdoor racing with winter conditions.
