A large farm just south of Järvsö in Ljusdals municipality was engulfed in flames on Sunday evening and will burn to the ground. Emergency services describe it as total damage, with efforts ongoing to protect nearby buildings.

The fire broke out at 5:30 p.m. on the older farm, described as a larger model by duty officer Håkan Eriksson. A few hours later, just before 9 p.m., emergency services determined the building could not be saved. The entire farm has burned up, according to alarm and operations chief Jens Hermansson at Räddning i samverkan.

Personnel from five stations, with at least ten units, are combating the blaze. The work is expected to continue through the night, as the situation is not yet fully under control. Adjacent buildings are only six to seven meters from the burning structure, with efforts focused on preventing spread.

No people or animals have been injured, Hermansson reports. The farm is a total loss and will burn to the ground. Emergency services emphasize factual reporting, stating what is known and unknown in acute situations.
