The SEA Games 2025 served as a fitting farewell for five iconic Indonesian athletes who retired after decades of excellence, leaving an enduring legacy.

Wushu star Edgar Xavier Marvelo closed his career with a gold and a silver in Thailand, having previously won three World Championship golds, a gold at the 2022 Birmingham World Games, four SEA Games golds, and two Asian Games silvers.

Athletics standout Maria Natalia Londa, competing at an advanced age, earned gold in the triple jump and bronze in the long jump. Her achievements include a gold at the 2014 Asian Games, representation at the 2016 Rio Olympics, seven SEA Games golds, and ten PON golds over two decades.

Swimmer I Gede Siman Sudartawa, a backstroke specialist, signed off with a bronze medal. He dominated regionally with eight SEA Games golds and made history as Indonesia's first swimmer to reach the World Championship semifinals in Budapest 2017.

Alongside these three, two other veterans also retired, marking a pivotal moment for national sports regeneration as their benchmarks inspire the next generation.
