Linus Videll leaves Östersunds IK after two seasons

Östersunds IK confirmed on Friday that forward Linus Videll will not return for the next season. The 41-year-old veteran departs after two years with the club in HockeyAllsvenskan.

The club issued a statement thanking Videll for his contributions. "We thank Linus for his time and efforts with us and wish him great success in the future," Östersund wrote on its website.

Videll recorded 62 points in 99 games during his time with the team. He had turned down a new contract offer that included a reduced salary compared with previous seasons.

Discussions had taken place with Södertälje SK regarding a possible return, but no agreement was reached on compensation levels. Videll, who previously played in the SHL and KHL, has yet to secure a new club for the 2026/27 campaign.
