Following days of uncertainty amid regional tensions, the Longines Global Champions Tour and Doha Equestrian Tour have postponed their joint event in Doha, originally set for 4-7 March 2026. The decision prioritizes safety amid travel and operational challenges, with organizers reaffirming their commitment to Al Shaqab.
The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and the Doha Equestrian Tour (DET) have officially postponed their joint event planned for 4–7 March 2026 in Doha, Qatar. This follows an initial period of uncertainty due to military escalation and airspace restrictions in the Middle East.
In a joint statement, the organizations noted a careful evaluation of participation timelines and logistical constraints. "The safety and well-being of horses, athletes, teams, partners, staff, and spectators remains our absolute priority," they stated, confirming all on-site horses and personnel are safe.
The Doha Equestrian Tour will resume from 11 March, with updates on other events forthcoming. LGCT and DET reiterated their long-term partnership at Al Shaqab.
The International Equestrian Federation has stated that withdrawals due to the Middle East situation will not be penalized, amid cancellations of two other regional events. No rescheduled dates for the Doha LGCT have been announced. Organizers thanked the community for its support.
