The update features jerseys, courts, and player cards for both current stars and alumni across men's and women's programs. This release previews a full college basketball experience planned for early 2027.
The announcement of NBA 2K26 Season 5 highlights a major expansion into college basketball, allowing players to engage with content from storied programs. The update, debuting on February 20, includes UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, Florida, UNC, Baylor, Houston, Ohio State, and UConn. Both men's and women's teams are represented through earnable and premium items such as authentic jerseys, signature court designs, and MyTEAM cards featuring current college stars and legendary alumni.
Zak Armitage, SVP and GM of 2K Sports, stated, “2K is building the definitive basketball universe, uniting the NBA, WNBA, and soon the collegiate ranks under one banner. Authentically representing the most elite levels of the sport is an ambitious undertaking and one that we will continue to scale over time, beginning with our foundational college experience next year.” This season serves as a preview ahead of a dedicated college basketball mode in early 2027.
Key rewards in MyTEAM include a Level 1 Diamond Evolution V.J. Edgecombe from Baylor, Level 10 Pink Diamond Marvin Bagley III from Duke, and Level 20 Galaxy Opal Jason Williams from Florida. MyCAREER offers college jerseys, murals, mascots, and themed cosmetics for players in The City. The update also features daily Challenge Games through March 30, where users can earn evolved cards of current college players by defeating all-time versions of their teams.
Specific to Florida, the trailer showcased current guard Boogie Fland, alumni Al Horford and Joakim Noah from the 2006-07 championship teams, center Olivier Rioux, and women's forward Me’Arah O’Neal. Jason Williams is confirmed as a Level 20 card for the Gators.
NBA 2K26 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Season passes provide additional rewards, including exclusive mascots and high-rated player cards.
