Nearly 1.4 million tourists travel and spend 250 billion pesos in long weekend

In the last long weekend of the year, nearly 1.4 million tourists traveled across the country, spending around 250 billion pesos, according to a survey by the Argentine Confederation of Medium-Sized Enterprises (CAME). This marks a 43.5% increase in the number of people compared to 2023 and a 20.1% rise in spending.

CAME's survey describes the tourist movement during this long weekend as 'moderate,' with an average hotel occupancy of 70%. Nearly 1.4 million people traveled, a 43.5% increase from the same period in 2023, and allocated 20.1% more resources, totaling 250 billion pesos.

Córdoba ranked among the most visited destinations. In the Federal Capital and nearby areas, hotel spots were fully booked, driven partly by the frenzy around Shakira's concert. This event boosted demand in the metropolitan region.

The report highlights the positive economic impact of these extended weekends, which promote domestic tourism despite moderate conditions. No contradictions appear between the consulted sources, which align on the main figures.
