Newcastle took control early in the match. Harvey Barnes won possession and set up Nick Woltemade, who scored from close range after 15 minutes for his first goal since Christmas. Four minutes later a flowing move ended with Jacob Ramsey releasing William Osula to finish past Mads Hermansen and make it 2-0.
