The Edmonton Oilers and Seattle Kraken are set to face off on October 25, 2025, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, with both teams announcing their projected lineups. The Oilers, holding a 4-3-1 record, will start Stuart Skinner in net, while the Kraken, at 4-2-2, welcome back defenseman Brandon Montour. Rookies Isaac Howard and Matthew Savoie continue in Edmonton's top six alongside stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
The matchup tips off at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT) and will be broadcast on KHN, KONG, SN1, and CBC. Edmonton enters with nine points from eight games, sitting just behind Seattle in the Pacific Division. The Oilers did not hold a morning skate and will use the same lines that closed out their 6-5 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. Coach Kris Knoblauch highlighted the team's depth at center, saying, "Obviously, all three of them (McDavid, Draisaitl and Nugent-Hopkins) are very good centres, and it gives us a strength now to do that. We need other guys to step up and be able to play some pretty significant roles, and some young guys moved up into our top six and have been playing really well, so hopefully, that will continue." Skinner, who has an 8-2-0 career record against the Kraken, will start in goal, backed by Calvin Pickard.

For Seattle, the focus is on extending their home win streak to three games. Defenseman Brandon Montour returns after missing four games following the death of his brother, Cameron, to ALS after a four-year battle. Montour will pair with Ryan Lindgren. Forward Jared McCann has been placed on injured reserve but remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury to manage the roster. Kaapo Kakko skated Saturday and is now day-to-day after a broken hand from a preseason game against the Oilers on September 24. Coach Lane Lambert praised the penalty kill's performance, noting it ranks ninth in expected goals against per 60 (7.67) despite middle-of-the-pack kill percentage stats. "The penalty kill was good," Lambert said. "The statistics don't say our penalty kill is good, but our penalty kill has been good this year. If you look at expected goals against... we’re in the top [third] in the league." Forward Shane Wright has two goals and three assists this season.
