The Oyo State Government has extended a curfew in 10 local government areas by 24 hours. Governor Seyi Makinde approved the move following an initial 48-hour restriction.
The curfew covers areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park. It runs daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
The restriction began on June 23, 2026. It was set to last 48 hours but now continues until Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Professor Musibau Babatunde, Secretary to the State Government, issued a memo on Thursday confirming the extension. The 10 affected local government areas include Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo and Atiba.
No further changes to the restrictions have been announced.
