Pelonci and Sančiz win opening padel tournament in Tivat

The Padel Federation of Montenegro hosted the inaugural national padel tournament in Tivat, drawing 20 pairs to mark the start of the competitive year. The event unfolded over two days, Saturday and Sunday, in what the organizers described as an excellent atmosphere with supportive weather that enabled high-quality matches.

In the men's final, Gianluca Pelonci and Dimas Sančiz emerged as champions, securing the win in a competition that highlighted the sport's growing presence in the country. The women's category saw Ivanka Simonović and Jelena Matijević deliver a stable and coordinated performance to claim first place. Additionally, Petar Boljević and Slaven Mitrović prevailed in the consolation bracket.

"The tournament took place in an excellent atmosphere, with favorable weather conditions, so high-quality and exciting matches were played on both days - Saturday and Sunday," the Padel Federation stated.

Organizers expressed satisfaction with the participants' engagement and the overall quality of play. "We are satisfied with the response of the players, the quality of the matches and the fact that the season started in a sporting and fair competition," the federation noted. They view this tournament as a promising indicator for the rest of the year, anticipating more participants and further advancement of padel in Montenegro.
