Prime Videoは、全8話構成の「リーチャー」のスピンオフシリーズ「Neagley」を9月16日に配信する。本作では、オリジナルシリーズ全3シーズンに登場したフランシス・ニーグリー役をマリア・ステンが演じる。
ステンは以前、Syfyのホラーアンソロジーシリーズ「Channel Zero」のシーズン4でジリアン・ホープ・ホジソン役として主演を務めたほか、2019年のDCユニバース作品「スワンプシング」ではジャーナリストのリズ・トレメイン役を演じている。
本作は、旧友を死に追いやった事故を調査するニーグリーの姿を描く。「リーチャー」シーズン4は、それに先駆けて8月12日に配信が開始される予定である。
ステンはEntertainment Weeklyに対し、視聴者が同キャラクターについてさらに深く知ることを楽しみにしていると語った。「皆さんがニーグリーという人物をもう少し深く知ることができるようになり、とてもワクワクしています」と彼女は述べている。
