Real Madrid are reportedly ahead in the race to sign 19-year-old winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. The Spanish club has agreed personal terms with the Ivory Coast international, though Leipzig rejected an £85 million offer.
According to Sky in Germany, Real Madrid hold pole position for the teenager after outpacing interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool. Leipzig is demanding more than £85 million for Diomande, who scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists last season. The high price has reportedly cooled Liverpool’s interest.
Real have already strengthened their squad this summer under Jose Mourinho with signings including Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries. Diomande’s potential arrival could affect the future of Vinicius Junior, who is in the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported that Arsenal have made early enquiries about the Brazilian forward. The Gunners are seeking a new left-winger after Leandro Trossard left the club and after missing out on Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa.
