The Veracruz government will begin the process to liquidate the municipal bursatilization debt acquired in 2008. Governor Rocío Nahle García presented this comprehensive strategy at the First Regional Work Meeting for Municipal Financial Cleanup in Boca del Río, attended by 113 mayors from the central region.

Accompanied by Finance and Planning Secretary Miguel Santiago Reyes Hernández and Government Secretary Ricardo Ahued Bardahuil, she outlined three lines of action: restructuring the bursatilization debt, addressing tax credits, and regularizing debts with the National Water Commission (CONAGUA).
"We need to grow together. The goal is for municipalities to have resources for services and public works, within a framework of respect for their autonomy. We will advance together without leaving anyone behind," the governor stated.
The debt liquidation requires approval from municipal councils, as it involves all participating municipalities. A support program will also be implemented to resolve these debts and reduce financial burdens that limit local investment.
Nahle García emphasized that this strategy stems from prior state financial cleanup, which reduced public debt and fulfilled historical fiscal commitments. The meeting is part of three regional gatherings to reach all 212 municipalities, with upcoming sessions in the southern and northern zones.
