Several fatal accidents in Midsummer traffic

Several people have died in traffic accidents during the Midsummer weekend in Sweden.

According to reports, the first fatal accident occurred on Midsummer Eve on Riksväg 40 outside Borås. A couple in their 80s died after being hit from behind.

Another motorcyclist died shortly after 3 a.m. on Midsummer Night outside Länna in Stockholm. Two people also died in a single-vehicle accident in Kalix on Sunday afternoon.

Trafikverket described the situation as normal despite queues on Ölandsbron, said spokesperson Denny Josefsson.
