Sheinbaum inaugurates university in Chalco and highlights education rights

President Claudia Sheinbaum inaugurated a new campus of the Universidad Nacional Rosario Castellanos in Chalco, State of Mexico, emphasizing that the Fourth Transformation aims to return rights to the people, such as education. She stated that these rights are not privileges or commodities, and announced a goal of 350,000 new university spots across the country.

At the ceremony in Chalco, Sheinbaum Pardo addressed young people, teachers, and members of her cabinet. 'The Fourth Transformation is about returning rights to the people, such as education, and she stated that “they are not privileges nor commodities”', declared the federal executive.

She explained that Mexicans have the right to study high school and university, promising: 'We will build more high schools and more universities, so that it is truly a right of the people of Mexico'. She also announced the Integral Plan for the East of the Valley of Mexico, covering 10 municipalities including Chalco, Chimalhuacán, Los Reyes, and La Paz, to address issues like drinking water, drainage, potholes, lighting, schools, clinics, and hospitals.

At the same event, Sheinbaum praised Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, highlighting her honesty and dedication. 'Delfina has not been reached by the arrogance or petulance that reaches some governors', she said, adding that the governor 'is honest, hardworking, and has not forgotten where she came from'.

For her part, Gómez thanked Sheinbaum: 'She is a hardworking and tireless woman; I admire her, respect her, and know her work, because not everyone can do it. Therefore, the only thing left for me, President, is to tell you that the people of Mexico thank you very much for everything you do for us'.
