Rescue services were alerted to the Mobilia shopping center in Malmö just after 7 p.m. on November 25. The fire in the parking garage was extinguished quickly, but six cars were completely destroyed and several others sustained fire damage.
Patrik Nilsson, duty officer at the rescue service, described the situation around 8 p.m.: "But we have ongoing problems with smoke spread in the garage and to several nearby buildings." Several visitors to the shopping center tried to retrieve their cars despite the danger, which the rescue team worked to prevent. "We're trying to stop that," Nilsson said.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and police have filed a report on suspected arson. No injuries were reported, but the smoke significantly affected the surrounding area. The incident occurred in a busy location, but the rescue service's prompt response limited the damage.
