6月25日午前0時（KST）、Starship Entertainmentは初のティーザーを公開し、AENが8月5日午後6時（KST）にデビューEP「A New Era of Now」をリリースすることを明らかにした。
同事務所に近い関係者によると、メンバー構成はサバイバル番組「Debut’s Plan」出身のジヨン、ボミン、キュヒョン、ハル、ジュンソ、カイラの6人に、新メンバーのハルトを加えた計7名となる。
AENは日本の芸能事務所Amuseとの共同プロデュースにより制作されており、IDIDなどを擁するStarshipにとって国境を越えた新たなコラボレーションとなる。
